Day 3: Grace Breaks the Performance Trap

Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10

Devotional: The performance trap is exhausting. It tells you that you must do more, achieve more, and prove more just to feel worthy of love and acceptance. But Ephesians 2 dismantles that lie entirely. Salvation is described as a gift, not a wage. It cannot be earned, and it cannot be lost through poor performance. God did not save you because you balanced the scale between your good deeds and your failures. He saved you because of his grace, which is his unmerited favor freely given. The cross settled the question of your worth once and for all. You are not saved by what you do. You are saved by what he has already done.

Reflection: In what areas of your life are you still trying to earn something from God that he has already freely given you? How can you begin receiving his grace more fully today?
