I Am ___ : Week 4

What if the way we have been thinking about Christian living has been backwards all along? This message challenges us to reconsider the relationship between who we are and how we live. So much of what passes for Christianity can quietly become a system of rule-following, a checklist of dos and don'ts designed to make us look the part on the outside while the inside remains untouched. But that is not the gospel. Drawing from Colossians 3, we are reminded that Paul consistently establishes identity before he ever issues a single instruction. He begins with the fact that we have been raised to new life with Christ, and only then does he talk about how to live. That sequence is not accidental. It is the pattern of the entire New Testament. Our identity shapes our activity, not the other way around. When we truly grasp that we are chosen, forgiven, redeemed, and called, the question we ask about our choices begins to shift. Instead of asking how close to the line we can get, we start asking whether something belongs in the life of the person God is calling us to become. That is a deeper, more honest, and ultimately more transformative question. This message invites us to stop treating faith as behavior modification and start living from the inside out.
