Day 4: Your Word Is a Lamp

"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." A lamp doesn't illuminate miles ahead—it shows just enough light for the next few steps. When camping in darkness, a lantern creates about a three-foot circle of visibility. That's enough to avoid stumbling, enough to move forward safely, but not enough to see the entire journey.

God's Word works the same way. We want Him to illuminate years ahead, to show us the complete plan. Instead, He gives us just enough light for the next right step. This requires trust—faith in what we cannot yet see. You don't need to understand the entire path; you just need to take the next faithful step. Read His Word, follow His leading, and trust that each obedient step leads to the next right place. The journey of faith isn't about seeing everything clearly; it's about following faithfully in the light you've been given.
