Day 2: The Humble and Faithful

Heaven's announcement of the Messiah's birth didn't go to kings, priests, or scholars—it went to shepherds in a field. These were lowly workers, possibly guarding sacrificial lambs destined for the temple. How fitting that the Shepherd of Israel revealed Himself first to shepherds, and that the Lamb of God was announced to those protecting lambs for sacrifice.

God reveals His truth to the humble and faithful. The religious elite missed the moment, but those faithfully doing their work in obscurity received the greatest news ever told. Your position in society doesn't determine your access to God. He sees your faithfulness in the hidden places, in the mundane tasks, in the ordinary moments. When you feel overlooked or insignificant, remember that God chose shepherds to be the first witnesses of His glory. Your humble faithfulness positions you to encounter Him in extraordinary ways.
