Day 1: From Brother to Believer

Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; James 1:1

Devotional: James, the half-brother of Jesus, spent years dismissing his brother's claims to be the Messiah. Yet after the resurrection, when Jesus appeared to him personally, everything changed. James went from skeptic to servant, identifying himself not as Jesus' brother but as "a slave of God and the Lord Jesus Christ." His transformation reminds us that it's never too late to surrender to Christ. Perhaps you've been keeping Jesus at arm's length, observing from a distance while maintaining control of your life. Today, consider what it would mean to move from casual observer to committed follower. True faith requires us to submit our pride, our doubts, and our need for control. James discovered that the greatest identity isn't found in family connections or personal achievements, but in belonging completely to Christ.

Reflection Question: What is keeping you from fully surrendering to Jesus as Lord of your life?
