Day 4: The Mercy Seat

Devotional: The Ark of the Covenant holds a beautiful picture of God's heart. Inside the box lay the Law—revealing our condemnation. But on top sat the mercy seat, where sacrificial blood was sprinkled. God was showing us from the beginning: mercy covers judgment. This wasn't just ancient symbolism; it was prophecy fulfilled when Jesus shed His blood 2,000 years ago. The holy God who could have justly condemned you chose instead to provide a way for mercy to triumph. You don't deserve mercy—none of us do. That's what makes it mercy. Today, let this truth humble you: the same blood that covers your sin covers the sins of everyone around you. Let that reality reshape how you view others and yourself.
