Day 5: Truth That Sets You Free

Reading: John 8:31-32 and Genesis 3:1-6

Devotional: The very first lie in human history was not about something dramatic. It was a simple question: did God really say that? The enemy did not attack with force. He attacked with doubt. He suggested that God's Word could not be fully trusted, that freedom existed outside of God's boundaries, and that living by your own standard was the path to wisdom. Nothing has changed. That same strategy is alive in our culture today. But Jesus declared that knowing the truth — His truth — produces genuine freedom. Not the counterfeit freedom the world advertises, but the kind that breaks bondage, rebuilds broken foundations, and transforms lives from the inside out. Truth is not a cage. It is a key.

Reflection: Are there areas of your life where you have believed the enemy's question — did God really say? What lies have kept you from walking in the freedom Jesus promised?

Practical Application: Write down one area of your life where you have been living according to your own truth rather than God's truth. Bring it before God in prayer today. Ask Him to replace the lie with His Word, and take one concrete step toward aligning that area of your life with Scripture.
