Day 5: Love as the Final Proof

Reading: John 13:34-35 and Colossians 3:12-13

Devotional: Jesus did not say the world would recognize his followers by their theological arguments, their bumper stickers, or their political affiliations. He said they would know us by our love for one another. Colossians calls us to clothe ourselves with mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and forgiveness -- not because people always deserve it, but because we have received all of it from God. Forgiveness does not mean pretending harm did not happen. It means refusing to allow what happened to control your heart forever. The blood of Christ that unites us is stronger than every issue that attempts to divide us. Live like it.

Reflection Question: Who in your life needs to receive from you what God has already given to you -- forgiveness, grace, and patient love?

Practical Application: Reach out to one person today -- a friend, family member, or fellow believer -- from whom you have been divided, and take one step toward reconciliation.
