Day 3: Jesus Is the Truth

Reading: John 14:6 and John 17:14-17

Devotional: Jesus did not simply claim to know the truth or point toward truth. He declared that He is the truth. This changes everything. Truth is not an abstract concept to be debated or a personal standard to be invented. Truth is a person — Jesus Christ. John 17 records Jesus praying that His followers would be set apart and made holy through God's Word, which He calls truth. When we anchor our lives to Jesus and to Scripture, we are not clinging to a set of rules. We are clinging to a living person whose character never shifts, whose promises never expire, and whose Word never fails.

Reflection: How does understanding truth as a person rather than a concept change the way you relate to God's Word? Are you treating the Bible as a rulebook or as a revelation of Jesus?

Practical Application: Read one chapter of the Gospel of John today. As you read, look specifically for moments where Jesus reveals something about His character. Write down one attribute of Jesus that stood out to you.
