Day 2: The War Within

Reading: Galatians 5:16-26

Devotional: When you accepted Christ, you didn't eliminate your sinful nature—you started a war. Your spirit now desires what the Holy Spirit desires, while your flesh pulls the opposite direction. This constant conflict is normal Christian experience, not spiritual failure. The key is learning to walk by the Spirit rather than gratify the flesh. Notice Paul doesn't promise the desires will disappear; he promises victory when we're Spirit-led. This means daily surrender, not one-time decision. The fruit of the Spirit grows in the battlefield of daily choices. Today, identify one area where flesh and Spirit are at war in your life. Choose deliberately to follow the Spirit's leading, knowing the struggle itself proves God is working in you.
