Day 1: You Can Be Faith-Filled and Overwhelmed
Reading: 1 Kings 19:1-8
Devotional: Elijah had just witnessed fire fall from heaven and rain end a three-and-a-half-year drought. Yet one threatening message sent him running into the wilderness, asking God to take his life. God's response was not a lecture. It was rest, food, and presence. This tells us something profound about the nature of God: He meets us where we are, not where we think we should be. If you are exhausted today — emotionally, mentally, spiritually — know that God is not disappointed in you. He is drawing near. Let Him sit with you before He speaks to you.
Reflection Questions:
Have you ever experienced a spiritual high followed by a sudden emotional crash?
What does God's gentle response to Elijah reveal about how He views your struggles?
Who in your life might need someone to simply sit with them right now?
Practical Application: Resist the urge to perform strength today. Instead, acknowledge one area where you are genuinely tired and bring it honestly before God in prayer. Allow yourself to simply receive His presence without trying to fix anything.
