Day 3: Leading with Mercy

Devotional: How quickly we forget the mercy we've received when we stand in judgment of others. The same God who covered your sin with Christ's blood calls you to extend that same mercy to everyone who crosses your path. James reminds us that showing favoritism or judging by appearances disqualifies us as trustworthy judges. Mercy doesn't lower the standard; it meets people where they are and walks with them toward where they need to be. Think about someone you've been judging—perhaps by their appearance, past, or current struggles. Now remember: you deserved judgment but received mercy. Today, intentionally extend grace to someone who doesn't "deserve" it. Lead with mercy, just as Christ led with mercy toward you.
