Day 2: The Distortion of Identity
Reading: Genesis 3:1-7; Judges 21:25
Devotional: The oldest lie ever told was not simply about fruit. It was about identity. The enemy approached Adam and Eve with a suggestion that God was withholding something they needed to become fully themselves. That same whisper echoes through every advertisement, every social media feed, and every cultural movement today. When people have no anchor outside themselves, everyone does what seems right in their own eyes, and the result is confusion and chaos. Sin did not just break our relationship with God. It distorted our understanding of who we are. Recognizing the distortion is the first step toward returning to the truth.
Reflection: Where in your life do you hear the voice that says God is holding out on you? How has that lie shaped decisions you have made?
Practical Application: Identify one area where cultural messaging has shaped how you see yourself. Bring it before God in prayer and ask Him to replace that false narrative with His truth.
