Day 1: The King Who Brings Peace

Reading: Zechariah 9:9; Luke 19:29-40

Devotional: When Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, He fulfilled ancient prophecy and declared His mission. Kings riding horses came to wage war; kings riding donkeys came to bring peace. The crowd missed this crucial detail in their excitement. They wanted political deliverance, but Jesus came to offer something far greater—peace between God and sinners.

How often do we approach Jesus expecting Him to fix our circumstances while missing His deeper work in our hearts? Jesus didn't come primarily to rearrange our lives; He came to transform them. Today, examine whether you're seeking Jesus for what He can do for you or surrendering to what He wants to do in you. True peace comes not from changed circumstances but from a changed heart fully surrendered to the Prince of Peace.
