Day 1: Trading the Eternal for the Temporary
Reading: Matthew 26:14-16; Philippians 3:7-11
Devotional: Judas traded eternal purpose for thirty pieces of silver—approximately four months' wages. His story challenges us to examine what we're trading for temporary comfort. Are we sidelining God's calling for financial security? Postponing obedience until circumstances align perfectly? The tragedy isn't just Judas's betrayal; it's that he could have been remembered as one of the twelve who changed the world. Instead, his name became synonymous with betrayal. Today, ask yourself: What eternal purpose am I sacrificing for temporary pleasure? Where have I told God, "Yes, but..." instead of simply "Yes"? God's assignments often require us to step out before we feel ready. Don't let the fear of losing what's temporary cause you to miss what's eternal.
