We had a great learning session yesterday to prepare for our trip to KNESSETH ISRAEL this Saturday, August 28 (we plan to meet at Catalyst at 8:15 to leave for Mountain Brook). I will send more information this week.

In our study we have been learning words such as YAD (pointer to read the Torah Scrolls) and SHEM ("Hear" as in the SHEM Prayer of Deuteronomy 6:4-9).
When we go to Jerusalem, Israel we will visit the Jewish Holocoust Museum called YAD VASHEM (" a monument and a name"):
Yad VaShem - in Hebrew יד ושם
Yad: Memorial (it has also the meaning of Name, Fame, Reputation...)
Shem: Name of the tribes of Shem...the Semitic people are descendants of "Shem"
Va: And (conjunction)
Yad VaShem: A Memorial to the Tribe of Shem.
Other Semitic races found in Asia are also children of Shem and speak Semitic languages, so technically the Yad VaShem would be not only for Jews but all Semitic Suffering including Arabs, Jews, Afghans, etc.
It is the Jerusalem museum in remembrance of the names of the victims of the Holocaust.
